Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Every day, we wake up to noise. Messages, images, and distractions rush at us before we even whisper a prayer. Scripture reminds us:
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23
The heart is the wellspring of our thoughts, decisions, and desires. If it’s left unguarded, anything can creep in — bitterness, fear, lust, rebellion. And soon, our actions reflect what we allowed to dwell inside.
Paul echoes this when he writes:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6–7
The peace of God is like a soldier at the gate of your heart. But for Him to guard us, we must first surrender daily, opening our hearts to His Word and closing the door to anything that defiles.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to guard my heart today. Protect my mind from distraction, my spirit from fear, and my body from sin. May Your peace stand watch at the gates of my heart, through Christ Jesus. Amen.
